Transfers

Any Roddons tenant can apply to transfer to another property. A transfer will be dependent on the tenant having a clear rent account and the condition of their current property.

There are other options and incentives available:

Choice-based Lettings (CBL)

Roddons in partnership with Fenland District Council are joining the Cambridge Sub Regional Choice Based Lettings scheme, HOME-LINK on 5 November 2008.

The Home-Link scheme was started in February 2008 with our six Partner Organisations in the following regions, Cambridge City; East Cambridgeshire; Forest Heath; Huntingdonshire; South Cambridgeshire and St. Edmundsbury.

Home-Link offers you more choice about where you want to live. In the past your Council or Housing Association has decided where and when you would be offered a home. Now you have the chance to choose.

Home-Link offers more choice about where you want to live giving a clear picture of the properties available in your area and across the sub-region.

A free magazine advertising all the available housing across the sub-region is produced fortnightly. Transfer applicants and homeseekers will be required to express an interest in the properties by making a bid for them.

House Exchange

As Roddons customers you are also eligible to use our House Exchange scheme for mutual exchanges.

The Easy Moves Scheme

An ‘Easy Move’ service is available to Roddons tenants who wish to move to a smaller property. Roddons will offer a financial incentive in addition to assistance on removals; decoration; reconnection; redirection of mail.

Any Roddons tenant who is under-occupying their current property and meets the following criteria may be eligible for the scheme:

  • Tenant has an active housing application
  • Tenant has a clear rent account
  • Tenant does not have a history of ASB
  • The property is in good repair and garden reasonably maintained

Tenants who are allowed to move with rent arrears will be expected to use the cash incentive to pay off the arrears in the first instance, and have an accompanying arrangement in place to clear the outstanding balance.
