The transfer marked a new era for affordable housing in Fenland with Roddons pledging to keep a series of 100 Days Promises to residents.
This included building 500 new affordable homes over the next five years in the district, launching new services, adding extra staff to the team, building relationships with partners and starting improvement and maintenance work on existing social housing.
Roddons is committed to ensuring all of its homes meet the Government’s Decent Homes standard. Contractors have been appointed to partner Roddons in carrying out a five year programme of improvements to all homes where it is required, at a cost of £35million.
Work includes fitting new kitchens and bathrooms, updating heating systems and rewiring. It also looks at security improvements, off street parking and a programme to clear the backlog of aids and adaptations needed in residents homes.

Most importantly we have been taking steps to ensure that residents have an active and influential role in all planning and decision making to do with Roddons. A further £1 million has also been committed to funding community based projects in Fenland.
