Housing services
Old Ford's Housing Services Team deliver a range of services to our residents covering the following three broad service areas: Customer Services (which includes income collection, management of anti-social behaviour and tenancy management), Re-housing Services and Estate and Caretaking Services. This section explains in more details what services we provide.
There are three main service areas which make up Old Ford's Housing Service Team:
- Customer Services Managers: Customer Services Managers (CSMs) are the main contact between Old Ford and residents. CSMs work in partnership with a range of statutory services, including the Social Services (Mental Health Team, Youth Offending Team, Children Services), Environmental Health, Police and Fire Brigade, in order to manage any issues customers may have. Each CSM oversees a patch of properties and undertakes a broad range of housing management related duties. - The Re-housing Team: Old Ford is a partner to the Tower Hamlets Choice Based Lettings scheme. Customers who are registered for Choice Based Lettings are able to bid for available properties advertised in the East End Life; these are then allocated on the basis of greatest need, on the condition that the chosen accommodation is suitable for and meets the needs of the customer. The team manage allocations, lettings, void properties, transfers and decants. They will also arrange viewings and tenancy sign-ups and ensure that homes meet our lettings standard.
- Estate Services and Caretaking Team: The Estate Services team are responsible for ensuring all communal areas are kept safe and clean, for overseeing the grounds maintenance in communal green areas, responding to fly tipping on the estates, providing a cleaning service, carrying out minor repairs in communal areas on our estates and inspecting works to ensure they are done to a high standard. We work in partnership with Mears, our repairs and maintenance contractor who carry out all major repairs and all non-communal minor and major repairs. Old Ford manages its own caretaking services - each neighbourhood has its own team of caretakers responsible for the upkeep of communal areas and ensures that these areas inside and outside are kept clean and safe.
