The Circle Support Board is the first point of accountability for Circle Support. It is responsible for providing an independent perspective on needs, direction and profile in relation to Circle Support's provision of support, care and specialist housing management services.

Stephen Jacobs OBE (Chair, Circle Support Board)The Chair of the Circle Support Board is Stephen Jacobs OBE (pictured left), who joined the Board in 2010. In addition to Stephen, there are eleven other members. Three are service users and nine are independent members including one nominee from the Circle group. All Circle Support Board members are appointed by the Circle Management Board and membership of the Board is reviewed annually.

The Board sets the strategy for Circle Support within the Circle group’s overall framework and monitors performance. It also agrees the Circle Support Life Chances Plan and performance targets on an annual basis. It is responsible for approving each year’s budget, monitoring compliance with contract, regulatory and statutory requirements and establishing and overseeing a framework of delegation and systems of control.

All Board members are expected to share the aims and values of Circle Support and the Circle group and agree to commit both time and energy to the work of the Board.
